it's 3.40 am and i'm wide awake. why?

BECAUSE OF MY STUPID BLOCKED NOSE.

took so many pills and stuff trying to get it to unblock but it just ain't happening. i tried to sleep but i couldn't. my throat went completely dry and so i walked around like some zombie in the house wondering if moving a bit will cure my "disease". but alas, here i am. nose blocked and lips slightly chapped. i should go look for my chap stick. i wonder where i last left it.


how i WISH there were something that would make it go away permanently. and i wish i knew how long i'm gonna stay up because of my nose. EEEUUURRRRRRRRGGHHH.

on a brighter note, i went out earlier this evening to watch the youth orchestra play my dad's song and some other old classics. he'll be glad to know i stayed conscious just for his composition and fell into a deep slumber almost immediately after it was over.

then my mom, sister and i left my dad half way during the concert *yawn* to do some shopping at raffles city. went to ESPRIT and their shirts are SO PRETTY. so i bought two shirts and my sister bought a pink track suit. as if she hasn't enough pink in her wardrobe. and my mom bought shoes from Robinsons.

then we went to lao ba sha and ate SATAY!!! gotta love satay! especially the mutton satay! yum. and ice kacang! haha i'm making myself hungry now!

bleh i'm gonna go sleep.

recipe for fudge!

INGREDIENTS

1/3 cup sugar
1 heaping tablespoon cocoa
1 tablespoon and 2 teaspoons milk
1 scant tablespoon butter or margarine
1/2 teaspoon vanilla

INSTRUCTIONS

Mix sugar, cocoa and milk in 1 quart glass measuring cup. Microwave on high 1 minute. Stir down sides of cup and microwave 40 seconds more. Add butter and vanilla. Beat until thick and eat. Let set up and cut into squares or eat warm right out of the bowl.

i dont know why i'm thinking about this, but i think that the actors and actresses here are genuine celebutards. they say the dumbest things ever. i saw the chitty chitty bang bang advertisement where they were interviewing the actors and actresses who have gone in and seen the show. and there was this actress who said:

"wow! the actors can really sing!"

duh. it's a musical. a BROAD WAY MUSICAL. of course they can sing! how in the world do you think they got the job in the first place? gees.

and my dad is back and he's breathing down my neck. (he asked me to type this)

another famous person said:

"i really can't figure out how they made the car fly!"

honey, if you knew how they made the car fly, there wouldn't be much thrill in watching it, would there?

i found a recipe for MARZIPAN! yes. i think all the ingredients cost less than the ready made marzipan from the shops. those things are really expensive for such a small amount.

Marzipan!


8 ounces almond paste
1/4 cup corn syrup
3/4 cup marshmallow cream
1 pound confectioners sugar


Combine ingredients, blend with hands. Form into shapes of toys, ornaments, etc.. Paint with food coloring dissolved in water.

anyways, if you don't know what marzipan is, let me google it for you.

Marzipan is an almond and sugar paste used to ice cakes and other pastries or sculpted into a variety of shapes to be eaten as candy or used as cake decorations.

yea. so there. go have fun. knock yourself out or something. oh and a tip: if you have a brain and want to dye the marzipan, you should wear plastic gloves.

so, i went CIP on tuesday with Debra. went to YWCA to be groomers for 6 hours. folded clothes (my nose got itchy and Debra was having a sneezing fit), stuffed books into an upright position and then we went for lunch.

it was at Outram and all i could see was just a couple of old shops so Debra said we should see if there are any more shops behind them.

so we waited at the lights to cross the road.

and waited.

and waited.

the bloody thing was so slow.

so in the end, we went to this place called T.bone. so they gave us mushroom soup first. and i'm not a fan of mushroom soup. i felt like.. you know. and it was really thick. but just to be nice i kinda consumed more than i intended to.

i'm not gonna say what i ate for the main course. anyway, the dessert was YUMMY!!!! the blueberry cheesecake was so good!

in any case we came back a few minutes late but the people didnt seem to mind. so we rearranged stuff in baskets and some plastic bags. along the way, we were screaming cuz i found a bug. then we started hearing noises and just went ballistic. we ended up accusing each other of making funny noises. in any case, they asked us to cut some paper for them. so they brought us to this room and there was this paper cutter. AND IT WAS SO FUN TO USE. you just slip the paper under this thing and you slid the razor across and slice THE PAPER IS CUT IN HALF!!!

okay i'm going mad. dad went to hong kong and sis is staying and grandma's. mom went to work. so i'm home alone. it's sad. my mom sent our maid home for a bit cuz her dad passed away. so i have to mop the house, fold the clothes, cook some mac and cheese and put the clothes in the washing machine. hopefully i'll lose some weight.

went to see The Bee Movie today. you guys have to watch it. super hilarious. and it's cute!

then i went to Times to buy a book. i was looking in the hobbies section, ya'know knitting, drawing, baking, that kinda stuff and then i see "spice up your sex life". since when is that considered a hobby?

then i passed the section that said "FengShui" and there were three guys propped up against the shelf. one was really shaggy looking, the other one was hiding behind a book and the other one was an old dude. if they were reading feng shui books, i wonder what they would want to read it for. very suggestive.

and now there's a stupid show going on now on channel 8. and it seems to me that local script writers have so little to write about, that they have to copy overseas plots and bleah. in any case, it's becoming real sloppy and lovey dovey cuddle-me-i'm-gonna-die kinda thing. they kinda copied from some korean dramas. the ones that are all about weird love triangles and after 1118945 episodes when the two main characters are finally together, one of them mysteriously dies. well, not actually all the time or mysteriously but here are a few scenarios:

1) gets run over.

2) gets into a fight and stabs tough man dozens of times only to die from one little stab by the opponent.

3)the "other woman" gets into a state of mental confusion and kills they guy.

4) the woman has brain tumor and dies "peacefully" in the strong arms of a korean man who looks as pretty as a girl.

5) the guys says he must go overseas but come back to find that the girl has died so he goes and commits suicide.

6) the girl has a incurable stage of brain tumor and after surgery, asks doctor to tell her lover that she has died. then all of a sudden they find each other only for the guy to find out that the woman has another man. and he dies and the girl cried till she became blind. literally.

7) they both die in a massacre.

okay i made no.7 up.

you must be wondering how i know all this. my mom's a korean drama junkie and borrows the cds when ever she can and when it's up to the last disc, i sit down and watch. pretty boring stuff. my mom says that she keeps missing the parts cuz she fell asleep. she refuses to admit the boring storyline is lulling her to sleep. sigh. END ALL BORING STORYLINES!

today my mom brought my sis and i out for some "bonding". so went to vivo to do some jeans hunting(while my sister amuses herself with a dinky little toy she bought for 3 buckaroos in the sunny playground).

so went zooming from shop to shop and walked right into ZARA. i didnt really take interest into the dresses cuz i dont wear dresses and they were red. i wanted to get this white hoodie with a skull on it but my mom says it's scary. translation: it's too expensive. i suppose it was but oh heck. then zipped past a couple of tables and i found really nice jeans! but found out they were skinnies so i went away to the other side, where i found a nice pair of non-skinny jeans! YAY! they where a bit too long but they didnt have anything shorter so i bought it along with a really happenin' belt.

then my mom was going on and on about spending so much money so we went to shop for her stuff but she didnt find anything that she would want to wear. and when to get some drinks and come home. YAY!

and now i have to go do a quiz so... YAY!

mum got invited to see a preview of the movie "game plan" so she brought me along. i really really think the rock sounds dumb. but anyway, the movie was really funny.

the rock plays this guy called joe kingman and after 8 years, he find out he has a daughter called patent. i think that's how you spell it. he married but later divorced her mother. i think the mother's name was sara kelly. so the kid finds her way to his house. and causes lots of trouble and she puts shiny poppy stickers on his favourite rugby ball and his clothes. somewhere in the show, he gets convinced into participating in his daughter's ballet performance as an enchanted tree. and he wears this ridiculous stupid costume. AND AND in one part he sings. who knew he could sing? and he played the guitar and supposedly sounded like elvis presley. in the end, joe finds out that sara died in a car accident 6 months ago and patent snuck away from ballet camp or whatever to find him. after some blah blah sad scenes, she decides to live with joe and the end.

i cant seem to remember anything else. oh. and there was this slobbering bulldog named spike in the movie.

the my sister dragged the entire family down to downtown east so that she counld go escape with my dad. so my mom, my maid and i got deserted at the food court from 5 to 7+. pfft. and i baked lemon pie. will post the recipe when i remember to.
